A new Daily word resets every day — keep your streak alive. Weekly and Monthly challenges are randomized themed prompts with limited tools and larger gem payouts.
Leave a Daily, Weekly or Monthly drawing and it waits for you — come back any time before the word changes and it will be exactly where you left it. Only one is kept at a time — if you start a different challenge while one is waiting, the app asks first and you can back out. Duels are not saved: a 1v1 drawing has to be finished in one go. Once the word rerolls, the saved drawing is gone.
The Daily word and your streak roll over at midnight US Eastern, not at your own midnight — everyone gets the same day, so the same word means the same thing wherever you are. The countdown on the Daily card shows exactly how long is left. Weekly and Monthly challenges roll on their own clock; each card counts down to its next word. Gem and XP limits reset with the Daily.
Daily, Weekly and Monthly prompts are pulled from curated, kid-friendly word pools — hundreds of words in all. The Daily pool is the broadest; Weekly and Monthly draw from their own themed sets, and each challenge randomizes its word so no two runs feel the same.
Tap ▦ on the canvas to open Layers — up to 3. Draw on the highlighted layer; tap another to switch. 👁 shows or hides a layer, 🔒 locks it so paint only lands on what's already there, and ▲▼ change the order. ＋ Add layer puts a new one on top, ⧉ Duplicate copies the active layer right above it, ⬇️ Merge down flattens it into the one below, and 🗑 removes it — the bottom paper layer always stays. ✥ Move layer drags the whole layer and opens flip and turn — anything pushed off the edge comes back until you draw again. Every layer change goes into ↩️ Undo alongside your strokes, and replays and video export play it all back exactly as you made it.
After a drawing you pick where it goes — any combination of: Save to Phone (your camera roll), Gallery (your profile, where it stays until you remove it — 30 slots) and Showcase (that period's public feed). Your gallery is your own curated page; the showcase rotates each period.
Tap the flag on any Showcase entry to report inappropriate content. Reports are reviewed and offending posts are removed.
There are hidden brushes, patterns and palettes tucked away in SketchDuel — and the Daily canvas is where they hide.
Be patient: some only reveal themselves when a piece is finished, and only if it was made under certain conditions.
